Licking Bedding

For the last few days I've noticed Charlie has sometimes spent a few minutes licking his dog bed. It's as though he treats it as an extension of his own fur and he's grooming his bed. It does need a wash anyway but I don't have a spare at the moment and it might take a while to dry in winter. Is this bed licking anything to worry about?

Bogie seems to lick when he is bored. He'll lick his bed, the carpet, the floor, or where ever he is laying. We distract him with toys or a chew, call him over for a pat, tummy rub, etc. and he will stop.

Sometimes if they have a bit of an upset tummy and no grass is available they'll lick fibres from blankets, carpet or the floor.
