My bed of course, cus that's the way she came. Ruby was 2 1/2 yrs. and that was about 6 yrs. ago. I wouldn't have it any other way either. I should add that I am single. Ruby is great she slams her back up to mine, and if it isn't quite right, she heaves up her whole body and slams it again to get it just right. The night I brought her home I slept like a baby and have ever since. The new bed I got is a pillow top on a raised bed frame so, I have to lift her up on it. Guess I will keep my eye open for steps.

Once when an old boyfriend stayed with me for the night, I was just imagining how desperate Ruby was to go to bed. Finally click click on the hard wood floors and thunk, up on the bed. BF says "what the h--- is that as he boots her off the bed. I tell yah, nearly ripped my heart out. Should have booted him out, cus Ruby is still with me long afte BF is gone.

I was going to order this for Elmer and Button with the help of the gift certificate that Elmer won by being Dog of The Month of the catalog In The Company of Dogs. (www.inthecompanyof dogs.com )

It looks so smooshy and comfy and dogs like to feel protected from the back, so the bolster would be great.

Having spent $5,000 on surgery for 2 herniated discs on Molly, I would NOT suggest Bassets jumping on and off human beds and couches. That said, Foster and Smith (albeit expensive), I think has the best dog beds on the market. I only order beds from them. All other doggy products (treats, supplements, meds, toys, etc.) can be ordered much cheaper from other purveyors. Watch out for your Bassets backs, PLEASE!! Take care, Belinda.

I agree the jumping on and off the bed was too hard on my hounds that's why we invested in a set of dog stairs that go at the end of the bed. The best thing we ever did, they use them all the time, much easier on their backs and mine, no more trying to lift them up.

Bogie Carter has several beds. :D Nothing but the "best" for this non-spoiled Basset. :D

The pipe bed for outside sunning.

The plaid round bed from Cabelas in the den. We did add a round piece of egg grate foam
to their stuffing.

"Bogie's thoughts on being crated after his ACL surgery." Amazingly he does love his crate, even
after many days of being confined in it after his two rock surgeries and his ACL surgery. It is
by the kitchen and patio doors. He often just goes and naps in it. It has a Wal Mart rectangle bed
that we added a piece of egg crate foam too.

In the RV when traveling he gets the comfy couch/bed intended for human use. He uses a small ramp
to get up and down. He loves it there because he can see out.

Yogi has two dog beds from Drs. Foster and Smith. He loves them! He has one upstairs and one downstairs. The two pillows were made especially for Yogi when he was a puppy by my nephew! Yogi loves using them too! It looks like he is crowded in the bed but he really does have enough room. He likes to sleep curled up instead of stretched out or I would have picked out a bed like his brother, Gunny (the GSD) uses. He doesn't like Gunny's bed but Gunny does like Yogi's bed! It is amazing how he manages to squeeze in there! He only uses Yogi's upstairs bed for some reason. I am not really happy about him using Yogi's bed since he is so big but what can I say? Yogi doesn't mind. Yogi does use his beds all the time but at night he sleeps in the people bed! :D He also has a set of stairs to get up and down on the bed. Gunny's bed is also from Drs. Foster and Smith. These beds really do hold up over time and are worth the money.

Louie loves his huge bed that we keep in the living room. When we watch tv he goes there to nap and watch tv too!

we have a small doggy bed we got from the pet store and put a cover over it to make it more comfortable for him.

Bogie used to sleep allover the place. He has two doggie beds, one just a big pillowy sort and one with a back rest type thing. He'd start on my bed or the couch, and make his away around. He also discovered that putting the pillowy dog bed inside the other dog bed makes it more comfortable. Then I bought myself a 4-inch memory foam mattress pad for my bed. He only slept on my bed once that came into the picture. I had bought a king sized one, but ended up getting a smaller sized bed, so I cut it to queen size. With the extra, I put it on top of the padding for his one doggie bed, and under a sheet, so he has his own memory foam mattress, and he loves it!

I just got Murray a "Therapeautic" dog bed from L.L.Bean. The catalog description says it's "made of memory foam to help relieve hip and joint pain by providing a firm, supportive surface that better distributes the dog's weight and helps prevent pressure points".

It was $99 for a 28x36 size- not cheap, but I've been looking for something to give him some support as he gets older. He really likes it, and uses it more than he used his old soft pillow bed.

The memory foam is interesting stuff- the mattress came rolled up tight and wrapped in cellophane, and I had to carefully unroll it and let it puff up for about a day until it got back to it's intended shape.

Murraysmom, does Murray like his LLBean bed? Moe is getting up in years and I would like to get him a bed that is comfy for his crooked old bones (and I'm hoping that if I do get him a bed he'll actually USE it!). For years he's slept on the couch but for six months after his surgery he did use a dog bed I bought for him at BJ's (a warehouse store). He eventually ended up back on the couch. I'm hoping he may take to a bed sometime in the near future because, though he is not showing his age yet, I would rather have him not jumping up on the couch as he gets older. He has a deformed front leg that may give him trouble as he gets on in years.

Tummy has several beds but he sleeps with us at night. His favorite (doggy) bed is a light brown camel back couch in micro fiber. ( I went NUTS bidding one year @ MBR ) I paid about three times what it would sell 4 in the store; but I figured it would help them. As far as ramps well I use one for car, one for our sofa & one always connected to our bed . I love all the beds U have. The pink one is so cute.
