I'm having an awful time keeping Francis away from one of my new flowerbeds. I mixed manure in with the soil and it's attracting him like bees to honey. I sit out in the yard with him and I'd love to study but all I'm doing is yelling at him to stay out of the flowers :x !!!
Is there some scent I can mix in around that area to repel the little darling from going over there, I'm at wit's end and ready to give up!

I saw a contraption in a catalog once - a sprinkler with a motion sensor. It was supposed to go off when animals get in your garden. Pretty diabolical. It might have been in the Improvements catalog, but I'm not sure.

We have three huge pine trees with tons of cones on the ground in our back yard. Bubba never went under them because of the pinecones. His paws were very sensative, and he avoided prickly things.
Now Bogie is totally different. He goes under there all the time, thinks pine cones make wonderful chew toys, comes out galloping with a smile on his face, and the cones don't seem to bother his paws at all.
I do know garden centers have sprays that will repel rabbits, deer, etc. If it rains or you have sprinklers you have to keep reapplying those. I did read somewhere to sprinkle chili powder around areas to keep dogs away, but I have never tried it.
Good luck and let us know if you find something that works.

Aroooos from Bogie!!

scent

Lily hates catnip. Won't go anywhere near it. Haven't tried it in the garden. But who knows might work. Of course, you might be inviting all the neighborhood cats to come visit.

My hubby and I always joke that none of the smell in this world could bother hounds. There is no stinky or nice smell, they are all just "Smells."

I have bunch of chinese medicine, mostly has strong mint/methol odor, the hounds hates that.

Manure/cat poop/rotten garbage are their favorite smells.
