Wow, thanks! Seeing the breed standard so vividly illustrated...all I can say is: I sure have one pet quality dog!!! :D

I loved that - thanks for posting! I don't know anything about judging, but the dog that won was shown by a professional handler who does a lot of the Topsfield dogs. But, for all I know, the rest of them could have been professional handlers too!

Pine Hawk: Thanks for posting the link to the videos. We actually saw the winner Ch Topsfield Beethoven at a dog show in Vermillion, SD this summer. We drove down to see Bubba's breeder show her dogs. He took top honors there, and he is one beautiful Basset. Hopefully he will do well tonight in the Hound group.

thz. 4 the heads up on link. Watched last nitr. Why is Bumper cars ALWAYS winning? Grrrrrrr. My Breeder Becky Pomeroy was there. Happy to ba a slave for Timmy Boy

Bumper Cars is retired i think.Bryan Martin is without a doubt one of the BEST handlers of Bassets,if i had a show quality hound i think i would hand the lead to him if i couldn't do it myself.But as far as i'm concerned none of those dogs are worth a plug nickel if they don't hunt or field trial.Ike had really nice looking ears until we went hunting this year and he got them tore up by the green briars in the pursuit of game...NOW his ears look BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
