In one of my other posts I said that our three hounds have become used to walking through fields and love vegetables and particularly apples. There are loads of apple trees around here and, when apples are in season, the dogs generally have "an apple a day". The weather here is really grey at the moment and not very good for photos...not a flake of snow in sight either! But here's a photo my wife took some time ago of Abby. Obviously there were no apples on the ground and she is looking at my wife as if to say: "What are you waiting for? Pick me one already!!"

That's a beautiful photo. Lightning loves apples too (Stomps has no interest whatsoever in them). I have several apple trees in my back yard, and when they are falling off the tree, Lightning will eat several every night as dinner supplements. At first I was worried that they would make him sick, since they are green and usually not mature, but he actually seems to do much better during apple dropping season. I'm happy to see that apple-loving bassets are global and not a local phenomenon.
