Weight?

Just curious how much your hounds weigh?? Rusty looks MUCH heavier than he is. He has tons of extra skin, so he looks like he weighs more. Both of mine are really active and play alot. Plus we walk about 3 miles a day. Today we used the scale at PetSmart. I know it's right because one day we used it, went to the Vet from their and her scale said the same. They eat 2 1/2 cups a day.

Stickers: 46 pounds
Rusty: 49 pounds

Mine both weigh in at between 45 and 47 pounds, depending.
Yogi weighs 61 pounds. He eats 2 1/4 cup of food a day plus a couple of biscuits.
last time at the vet: Lily 65lbs, Gibbs 62lbs...They don't look that heavy though.

Dozer is 56 lbs @ 3 years & 7 months. 54-55 lbs on a 2 year average.
Digger is 62 lbs @ 3 years & 3 months. 59-61 lbs on a 2 year average.

They both look about right, but this is the most either has weighed before. I don't know, but that one extra pound since I last weighed them, sure makes them look heavier.

Now for the scary part. They eat 6-7 lbs of dry/can mixed together, and 6-8 biskets PER DAY.
Bogie is going to be turning 3 soon. He eats about 2 cups of food a day, plus some bits of a different kind of kibble when we practice sitting and things, plus treats when I leave the house. He's about 42 pounds, but he's on the small side for a basset, I've been told.
Jesse is 8 months old today and she weighs 34 pounds. We walk about a mile a day and she stays active.
Hi all. I am babysitting an extra 4 hounds at the moment, here are all weights..

Dee 41 pounds or 20kg
Amy 51 pounds or 25kg
Maz 45 pounds or 22kg
and the biggest is Gully at 66 pounds or 32kg..

They are all current show dogs (apart from Dee) and are all at the correct size for their bodies..

Ill try post pic's soon..

Bogie Carter now weighs 53 pounds. He was up to 58, still had a waist, but the vet said  too much padding  over the ribs, so he's on 1/2 diet INNOVA and 1/2 regular INNOVA, getting 1 & 1/2 cups of food a day in two meals. He does get a few INNOVA dog biscuits during the day. We walk him daily 1 to 2 miles weather permitting, tough here in the winter with below zero temps and snowy and icy streets. No sidewalks in our neighborhood until we get to the park area.
Bubba, ATB, weighed 65 pounds, but he was a much larger and bigger boned Basset than Bogie.
Wow. I would have thought Rusty weighed much more than that (not that he looks fat--he's just so substantial). Stomps, who is skinny, weighs almost 50 pounds, and Lightning is somewhere in the 60s. I've met bassets that weighed upwards of 100 pounds; most of them were not fat--just huge--but some who were just plain fat.

Rusty is my baby but I think he looks much heavier too  But you are right. He is all muscle. When people pet him they can't believe how solid he is, then he lays down and you can see his skin. I call it his extra coat!!
Louie is 6 months old and is 43 pounds. He's not fat by any means. He's very muscular and you can see his ribs slightly. My big question to everyone is, when do they usually stop growing? I've seen a lot of you have around 45-60 pound dogs and they are mostly over 2 years of age. Louie is around that weight already. So will he no longer grow and just fill out as the years go by? or is he going to be one of those huge dogs? We don't know what his parents looked like, and I know that that has a lot to do with it, but on average when did your dogs plateau with their weights? Just so we can figure out if we need to buy larger sweaters for him for the future..lol

Both of mine were 44 lbs at 6 months, and reached their current weight range at 12-18 months old.
Luke was our first actual experience with the breed, and he weighed 47 pounds 2 months ago. When we picked up Dixie I was shocked at how small she was, she was over 5 years old and only weighed 45 pounds, Luke was already bigger than she was. So I would not worry about weight so much as how healthy they are. I can only guess at what Luke weighs now, but we will find out since he has his check up coming up soon.
