We Met Dean!

Well, Murray and I went out to the Elizabethtown Beagle Club this morning to check out the hunt- what a great day! The sun was shining, there was nice breeze blowing, and it was around 60 degrees- perfect weather for being out with the dogs!

Ten hounds showed up- everyone was friendly and happy to explain how points are given, and how the hunt works. The Elizabethtown grounds are totally fenced so you can't lose your dog.

One of the Beagle Club members who was just there to watch owns 2 bassets. His dogs are from Murray's breeder, so we had a great conversation about our dogs trying to figure out how they are related.

And yes, we met Dean! The highlight of the day to be sure! Dean is a true gentleman and just a really nice guy-

Tim Bishop was there- when he found out how close I live to the club, he suggested that I join so that I can go out and run Murray there - I'm thinking about it! If I don't join, I know I'll at least be out there again for more events- it's a great way to spend a day!

I think the next Basset event at the E-town club is December 15th (Dean or Tim correct me if I'm wrong on that date)- if you're nearby, think about coming- you and your hound will have a greart day and meet some really nice people!

Are you sure it was Dean?

I am so glad you got to go. I was hoping to go if my back was feeling better - which thanks to my doc it was artificially!!!! - but I ended up flying to Dallas at 6am Saturday morning to be with my mom who has ARDS and is not currently breathing on her own - her lungs a full of fluid.

My mom doesn't like drool, but she does love Belle and Gunther, so I'll be telling her details about all of your adventures hunting bunnies this weekend as the reports come in.

Murraysmom - let me know if you join - that may be my closest bet too and I need a place to train where I don't have to freak out about losing my babies! It would be fun to meet out there and run them together.

  (Yes, I'm sure- he really is a nice guy!)

Sorry about your mom, and sorry you couldn't make it Saturday. Maybe we'll have a chance to meet at the next basset event in E-town- do you live close to the club?
do you live close to the club?[/b]
I'm about 1 hour and 45 minutes away, but it would be worth it to get in a few training sessions over the winter. How far away are you?
Ten minutes!! So please let me know when you are coming, and we can make plans to meet!

Edited to say: if you are thinking about joining talk to Tim Bishop. He's a member and can fill you in on what you need to do-
That sounds great. I would like to come before the next event there which is the beginning of December, I think. I will let you know and we can plan a day that works for both of us.

I'll be looking forward to meeting you person - and introducing the kids!

That sounds good- I'm private messaging you Tim Bishop's phone number so that you can contact him about running the dogs out there at a time other than the next basset event- since he is a club member, he would have to OK it and be willing to meet us there- so it would have to be coordinated 3 ways-
Pinkwhip -- sorry to hear about your mom -- hope she's doing better --looking forward to seeing you at the Dec hunts

Murraysmom -- it was nice to meet you even if you are a poor judge of character -- please don't print things like that -- I have a reputation to live down to.. Hope to see you and Murray at the Dec hunts.
