Charlotte went in today for a doctor visit because her topical flea meds have not seemed to be working well this summer (she was on k9 advantix) and she is still having trouble with the rash/ possible yeast infection in her underarms that I have posted about before. She saw a new vet today who looked her over and although she didn't seem to know what was causing Lotte's skin issues she deceided to give her a medicated bath, something called chlorhexadine I think that set us back 60 bucks for the bath alone, geez! We also deceided to try a new flea treatment called Vectra 3d. Has anyone had any experience with these medications?

Poor Charlotte! I hope she feels better soon. I don't have any experience with these drugs so can't help you there. Healing drool from Doppler and Virga!

My two are on Vectra 3D...so far, so good. No fleas and no reaction to the medicine. It's nice because it also repels ticks and mosquitoes. Just keep Charlotte away from cats until it dries, as it's poisonous to them. I usually put it on them when they are settled in for the night and finished wrestling. Cats won't bother them...they aren't fond of dogs

Its poisonous to me too, the vet said that because I am pregnant that I should wait until my husband is home from his business trip to apply the Vectra but Charlotte had other plans. I went upstairs to shower and she pulled it off the counter and peirced the package in several places so I had to apply it before we lost it all. She usually sleeps in our bed, especially when the hubby is away, but I guess she gets the crate tonight while the fresh meds are on her.
