- Yesterday Daddy told us about Hansel and Gretel as our bedtime story.
It's about two children being kept in the house of the wicked witch.
The witch is fattening up Hansel to boil and eat him. I think I know the
place, so Doris and I are on our way to rescue them!

- You better hurry up, Doris! We have no time to lose! I think it's this way.

- We can try to drink out the creek, or we have to get across this dangerous looking bridge.

- Finally! The wicked witch's house! And the gate is open...

- But no matter how much we looked and sniffed, no trace of neither the witch nor the children. What a tragedy!

- Well, we just have to go back home, and see if Dad has pancakes and milk for us too.

Two tired rescue bassets on their long way back home...

Great story. Hope they had fun hunting down that witch.
I wish my two would stay on trail like Emma & Doris. With all those trees and bushes, I would never see my two again.

Be honest girls... was you main goal to rescue those poor captured children? Or were you really hoping to find the cottage made of sweet treats so you could eat it?

I especially like that first photo. Perhaps it's only the angle of the photo but I think that Emma looks like a Basset-Balloon that should be floating in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! :D :) :) :) (Just kidding Em... you are a beauty but you have to admit that angle is less than flattering to your shapely rubinesque figure. ;) )

Thank you for the story. You should have looked for the bones
in the oven, that would be a nice treat for Doris and Emma

By the way, how did it go with Emma's little diet? Perhaps it was
a good thing it was not a candy house.

Great story! By the way, funniest thing--I read it a few days ago, and went back to look at the post today, but the pictures are gone....

I'm not sure about Emma's weight,
and I don't dare asking a lady about that...

But she's obviously lost a lot, so now I'm
fatten her up for winter.
