Went for 3rd xray today.(saw a different vet) in clinic. She said since his numbers are still low. I asked What does he have? She said she doesn't know. Wanted me to fast Tummy overnite and then she will draw a full bloodwork. I called DH on the cell and he said don't do it. University will do all that She said do U want to wait till the 24th?I told her I was also on a standbye list. She thinks can be diabetes and something in pancreas both. Or only one of these. I asked her why he gained another 1 lb. Since last visit? Tummy Boy is still on a diet. I asked 4 his records. So they copied them 4 me and out the door. GRRRRR!! So have no definite anything. What do U all think?. Happy to be a slave 4 Tummy Boy.

I don't know what it could be. All I know is a lot of things can cause low blood sugar in people, and I'd guess (a very uneducated guess) the same is true for dogs.

I think taking him to the university vet is your best choice. Be sure to ask them about his diet, too.

Keep us posted and give Tummy a tummy (? :D ) rub.

With humans, a doctor's referral can get you off a standby list and into a specialist quickly. Was the second vet offering to do this? I would call her back and see if she can get you into the university sooner.

biscuit, I will ask them about them about his diet. No I just called and made appoint. myself. I told the vet that yesterday and asked her to have his regular vet call the University clinic. That would be good. If they REMEMBER. hOPE so.thanks murray's mom.I don't want to wait until the 24th. :)

Personally, I'd go for the fasted blood draw now now, since the 24th is a good 10 days off, and you're not sure if you'll get in to the University clinic, anyway. It might provide something more definite, and you'll have one more piece of information to take to the University, if you do get in and need to go after the fasted draw. I say this thinking you haven't a fasted blood draw done yet.
Not being a veterinary or physician, I have no idea what's going on, but wouldn't you rather know now if possible?

Well, being a bit more awake at 4 pm than I was at 4 am :D , I retract my earlier post and agree with Sharon.

Sharon's right - 10 days is a long time for a doggie and it's better to have as much information as possible.
