Hello everyone,
my basset hound Roxy will be 7 months old next weekend 😍

Problem is, she doesnt want to walk. She likes to go for a walk but after few metres she stops and refuses to continue. Sometimes she just makes herself ,,flat´´ 😅
I really want to take her for a walk to the forest, but she just slowly walks behind me, then stops and lies down. When I offer her treat she will come, eat it and refuses to walk again. She is not in pain, or tired....
I can see here in the forum that many owners have this or similar problem, and that she will eventually outgrow of this 🙄

Dog Dog breed Carnivore Liver Companion dog

Any ideas of what else can I try? Or should I just wait?
Thanks
Vanda

this us a sign if stress. Is she on leash? is she comfortable outside off leash. ? and no she will not outgrow if the behavior is reinforcing, the only way to solve the issue is to minimize/eliminate the cause of stress, hence my question.

She's still plenty young to be doing much other than ambling around at her own pace and getting used to the 'scary' outside world. Can you take her off somewhere, in your car, to a field, or woods to amble around. I'd not force this - there may well be a good physical reason for this basset flop.
