Caper's learning how to track. :) This track was 150 yds long, aged 5-10 minutes, with three 50-yd legs, 2 turns, and a couple of food drops per leg.

Making a nice start at the beginning of the track.

Working out a turn.

Hard at work.

Success! She finds the glove!

Child labor! She certainly looks like she's taking this very seriously...

Are you in Pahrump in the photos? Mt. Charleston in the background? What a good little tracker! Can't wait to start with my Lab "puppy" (10 mos. and 90 + lbs.!). Belinda.

Kewl! That's somethin I'd love to try. Hopefully when I get a new job I won't be working Saturdays and I can attend tracking classes...

After swimming against the tide with bassets in obedience and agility for so long, it's nice to participate in an activity for which they have a clear aptitude. :)

Edited to add, yes, we were in Pahrump. :) I don't know which is Mt. Charleston; the first photo is facing west and the second is facing north.

"..swimming against the tide with Bassets in obedience..". PLEASE!! This from a woman who earned a UDX with her FIRST Basset in obedience!!!! HELLO!!!!! I'm zero for 20 in Open with Molly, my 4th obedience Basset! I'm just jealous Betsy, that's why I do Hunt Tests now. It's SO EASY!! And here's her new name as of this year: AHBA RCh Good Ground's Cowgrrrl Blues CD, CGC, BHCA SHH. Take care all, Belinda.

Oh, she is adorable! BEtsy, there is almost nothing (that I've found) in tracking around here in Georgia. Do you have any knowledge of contacts in Georgia? I would love to try this with HEctor or Barney. :)

Hmm, last I knew, AKC's tracking rep lives in Georgia. I'd probably try searching AKC's Events site for tracking tests in the area, and then contacting the test secretaries for leads.
