They are so sweet. I have wondered about those beds - are they stable, or have they ever tipped if the dogs step on the edge?

I got these beds from a friend who makes them. Her beds are sturdier than most in the catalogues. The mesh is also stronger so it can hold both dogs and not tip or tear. They definitely abuse them and after one year they are still in great shape. We have 2 inside and 2 outside. Here's her website.

Rusty & Stickers were 2 years old in February. They HATE the swimming pool. We tried to teach them where the steps are. Unfortunately that didn't work. Even with wearing a life vest, they are so afraid they swim in a circle. The child safety fence will be a permanent fixture around the pool. My other Basset (ATB) also HATED the water.

Patti! I love the first picture. It should be an add for doggie pipe beds. :) Adorable. :)

Bogie Carter often lays like Stickers, and we often wonder if he has any hip sockets. Funny part is his hips showed up on the x-rays for the two rock incidents at two different vets. One said his hips looked great "for a Basset". The other said he'll probably have hip problems down the road and to keep him from jumping off things. Typical Basset hips, I guess.

I love you dogs and I think those beds are a great idea, especially for out on the deck. Sadie loves being outside but hates laying on the deck, she is always trying to get up on the deck furniture. It was ok last summer when she still fit in the chairs but she has grown a lot and I don’t' think she will fit too good on our chairs this year. My husband got all the supplies to make two of those beds; I will post pictures of the hounds and their new pipe beds when we get them done. Thanks for the idea.
