I'm a teacher and next week is my first official week back to work. I haven't been able to work in my room all summer due to another job (usually I work in it here and there so that the beginning of the school year isn't so demanding) which means LONG hours next week. I suspect I could be gone from the house possibly 12 hours with work to bring home (I'm crazy at the beginning of the year like that) which means the dogs would be locked in the kitchen and then when I get home they wouldn't really have my attention. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but my husband will be out of town next week also. I called my mother and she said I could bring the dogs over there for the week (they've stayed for a week at a time before - and my parent's work schedules are much less demanding - the dogs get very spoiled over there). My boy Gibbs has MAJOR seperation anxiety (shakes to the point I can hear his teeth chattering, and I can hear his cries inside my car in the driveway). Even when I get the mail without him he's upset. I want to do what's best for them and that would cause the least amount of upset. Any suggestions?
