[Josie's Dad]

We took Josie to the vet on Saturday for her 16 week shots. They weighed her and she was still only 8.5 lbs. The vet said she will probably only turn out to be about 20 lbs.

I've never come across a Basset that small. Has anyone ever seen a girl Basset that tiny?

Awww.. she's a petite little thing! I felt the same way about Snickers too, I thought she was on the tiny side. I think she was the runt of the litter. But she's got a hearty appetite. And it is starting to show!
Also, she did get a bit stockier after she was spayed, so if you're planning on doing so with Josie, it may happen to her as well.
Just be glad you can still lift her with some ease... Snickers weighs 30-35 pounds now, and when she needs to be lifted, it's a task!

Yes, she'll be spayed in about 2 months. I've just never seen a Basset so small. We came across a basset who was 6 months old the other day at the dog park who was almost triple her size.
