Please know that once used, your young dog will be looking round for the next bitch - who even if you find a first one, (if he's that nice, people may well go to his sire!) won't be there. Fact is HE doesn't 'need a wife'. You know he will have to have any endorsements lifted by his breeder before any offspring he might sire can be registered with the AKC. Also do you know enough about the breed, the faults, dominant and recessive, to know if any bitch whose owners are interested in using your dog, won't be doubling up on his faults? Have you looked at the pedigree of youir dog and know about the individual animals involved?
There's a lot more to allowing a dog to be used at stud than mating dog A to bitch B. Remembering the owner of the stud dog is 50% responsible for what he might sire.
We all think our pets are 'the business' but you'd do far better to love him for the super boy he is, and leave breeding him alone.
We had a couple of males who were successful in the ring, and did have enquiries to use them - most of which I turned away.
