We would like to take Henry to agility however i contacted some of the bigger what i thought where reputable training places and each time was told that they wouldnt even let Hen come for lessons due to the fact he is a hound! Now i know he can be noisy but we did agility with Humps in england and he loved it - especially the walkway and tunnel - so if anyone has any knowledge of Arkansas agility please could you recommend someone that will at least talk to us! Thankyou x

Um barking is not the issue many of the herding breeds are a lot noiser than hounds when in the overthe aroused state tha agility often causes in them. More than likely it is a result of past experience and they simply do not know how to deal with dogs that are more food motivated than toy or praised motivated. To be perfectly honest with if that is the case it is not a place you want to be anyway.

One thing I loved when I contacted Dreamfields about doing agility was that when I told Cecilia I had Basset Hounds she said "Kewl!" She has lots of enthusiasm for working with "other" breeds. Definitely keep looking, you want an instructor that believes in your dog.
