We r devastated at the loss of our 12 week old basset Jeremiah. Yesterday we had to put him down. It was a hereditary neurologic disease. Our hearts r broken and we have shed many tears. We have discussed the void in our basset empty home is to much to bear. We were wondering if anyone knew any good breeders. We r thinking of purchasing another basset pup into our hearts again possibly in the spring

Best I can offer is you go into the BHCA website and check for breeders under the State you are in. At least you 'should' avoid finding a BYB and get yourself a well-bred Basset pup - not that anything with living beings is 'guaranteed' .

So sad that you lost your Jeremiah - far too young. Just a word of caution, looking at those steps, covered or not, it might be a good idea to buy a ramp for a puppy to use - stairs/steps are generally a no-no for the young Basset (and the elderly too!). We found a short one to fit the few steps we have out back, plus a full length one for the car, for Frankie.

Yes we had gotten a ramp. Right after that pic was taken. For both the car and steps. He only got to use them a couple of times before he got to sick.
