Spencer's surgery went well today. He did so well under the anesthesia when the vet removed the cyst, she went ahead and did a dental. We planned the dental, as long as he did ok under the anesthesia. It was a good thing it went well, because she ended up pulling 10 teeth. I knew he had some teeth issues, but I did not realize it was that bad. Poor guy. He's resting comfortably now, still under the effects of the medication. Thanks for your good wishes.

Let us know how the hair grows back around the scar. Bandit the 12 yr beagle had a tumor remove over six months ago and even affter two major shed her undercoat and much of the topcoat never filled in. The vet said they are noticing this with older dogs with surgery around the lower spine

Thanks everyone. Spencer is enjoying his new (but temporary) diet of can food & boiled chicken. I may have a hard time getting him to go back to kibble after his mouth heals! I am happily surprised at how well he is doing. He's a bit unhappy with me because I won't let him off leash in the yard. All he wants to do is roll & he can't do that with all those stitches in his back. He doesn't get them out until next Saturday, so he has a whole week before he can run free in the yard again. One of us will probably be crazy by then.
