Here is the update on Biscuit.
It appears he has chronic ehrlichiosis. I suspect he got it when he and Yogi escaped last fall and ended up at a local chicken house.
Tests are still inconclusive, however. But we're going to test again in hopes we get a clear answer. His response to the meds and the nature of what's gone on with him are what is leading the diagnosis at this point.
Despite this, he's doing remarkably well, which I credit to his wonderful personality and rough tough constitution. Still much too thin, but we're working on it. There are some issues with the liver which I'm hoping resolve as he continues healing.
In the meantime, the majority of symptoms have passed and, with some more love and care, I think he's going to make it just fine. With some minor disability, perhaps, and fingers crossed, with a healed liver ... but fine nonetheless.
