Ah, ahem.....Louie is a whopping 71 pounds. He is very manly looking!
He has been on and off steroids, so he has an excuse, other than being totally food driven![/b]
Moe is seventy two pounds and has held that weight for several years now. He's slim at this weight - perfect for his size. At one point he was a whopping eighty three pounds!!!! He was pretty 'beefy' back then. That was shortly after he reached his full size and after Tally joined our family. Before then he had been a finicky eater but after she came he learned to eat all his food AND hers (AND ours, AND anything else he could find, beg, or steal - usually steal

). When I adopted him he weighted in at thirty-two pounds and was easily carried  - I miss those days when he pulls a flat-basset on me...
I think people tend to think Bassets are overweight because of thier large heads, long torsos, and large feet. They are heavy-boned (my vet says they are true dwarves - the type with a short but big-boned skeletal structure and large hands and feet). If you can see your dog's waist then she's probably well-proportioned for her size.
