Rusty's new bowl arrived today in the mail. I am happy to report it really does work! It has slowed his eating down considerably! He is finishing his meal at the same time as Stickers who actually chews her food! He does get frustrated trying to get to all the food around the obstacles but doesn manage to get every last bit of kibble. I talked to his Vet today and she has seen this bowl and was happy to hear I got it for him. Here's a photo of the bowl in person! It's actually bigger than in the photo on their website.

I'm glad he liked it and it's working. Maybe he'll realize that the food's not going anywhere after a while. There will always be food. So does he rotate around the bowl as he eats? ...or does he just try to turn his head at angles?

I'd be afraid mine would walk away, having the lazy tendencies that Bassets do

It IS NOT sturdy at all! I was surprised at how lightweight it is! Thankfully Rusty doesn't chew on things other than his toy. It does work for the purpose it was made. I would much rather have had a metal bowl. The designer of this bowl is currently working on making a metal version.

You have a fast eater, and I have slow eaters. It's been 9 hours since the last feeding, and they have only eaten half of it. Now that I'm home, they will eat it all, and will want their dinner soon after. In fact I can hear the bowls sliding on the floor right now.

As far as sturdy bowls, I need them too. I use stainless steel bowls, because they just can't eat in the kitchen for some reason. <_< They have to carry the bowls elsewhere in the house, or outside to eat. Also, the steel bowls are easier for Digger to carry.

I guess it's time for dinner. Dozer is slamming his paws down on the bowls, fliping them over, demanding his dinner. The drawback to steel bowls is the noise they make banging on the floor.

I'll have to wait for the metal version then. Lightning would destroy a flimsy one in 10 minutes (he'd probably think it was dessert!). I'll have to find some big rocks to tide us over until the metal version is available. It's such a good idea, I'm surprised that it took this long for someone to think of it.

M-m-m. I have one for each of my girls. They now consume a meal in 60 seconds, rather than 30. I guess that's an improvement
