His appt is at 9:00 this morning. His gland in the very corner of his eye, near his nose has been swollen for quite some time. His regular Vet has been treating it with prescription eye ointment with no success. It doesn't seem to bother him at all! We decided since the inflammation isn't getting better, it's best for his to see a specialist. I know his parents angles have been checked on their eyes. No glaucoma in the bloodline at all. Also, Rusty's eye's were checked when he was a pup. I don't think anything "serious" is going on, I just need to be sure. Hopefully, I'll come home with an ointment that will do the trick. Hopefully, I won't come home with a hefty bill $$$$!! I'll post an update when we get home!
Hope it's nothing chronic- Murray developed dry eye around the age of 2, and gets cylclosporin drops in each eye every morning-the tiny 1 1/2 inch bottle which lasts about a month, is $50---no wonder our vet loves us!!
That is sort of how I would describe what Bogie's eye looked like when it was swollen. When I had taken him to the emergency vet, the person he was randomly assigned to happen to be the Opthamologist, who was on general duty (the emergency vet and specialist vets are all in one office in my city). This was very convenient. He is the one who decided it was an infection/abcess, and the antibiotics worked. Bogie's eye was back to normal in 3 weeks!
