Assuming it was from weight gain (he is on steroids all summer...10 mg every other day...[/b]
It is very difficult keeping weight of a hound on steriods. The only real solution is to feed less and be very diligent about leaving access to food. counter surfer etc because they will be more motivated to feed themselves as well.


Anyhow, I started walking him on short walks around the block and noticed that he is winded. Really winded[/b]
Is it he is winded or panting because of heat? Walking later in the evening or earier in the morning might help. Dog are not as efficient at colling theselves as humans when out in the sun. One way to help is to soak the dog with water to the skin to encourage evaporative cooling which is how sweating works,
