Aww your babies are so cute and best of luck for their future! 
She actually has 9 left. 6 females and 3 males. She started out 15! We have 3 lemons two females: one male, 3 brown/white all females, and 3 tri-colored two males; one female!

Wow 15 puppies in one litter that's insane. When you say you have 9 left do you mean you lost 6? That's so sad but I imagine very possible with that large of a litter it would be hard to keep them all going. I have a hard enough time with our 3 just making sure they are all getting what they need. Congrats on the litter by the way.
Yes, we lost 6 one was the runt and it was the smallest basset I have ever seen it would fit in the palm or your hand. The other five died from the mother lying on them. she laid on one while delivering the others. After that we started bottle feeding and only giving her 5 pups at a time but with it being her first litter she ended up laying on 4 more. Wish I could have prevented it from happening but I just can't sit with her 24/7. Now however she is doing an excellent job with them and knows to move around them w/o hurting them.
Hmm... the other puppies shouldn't have been with her while she was delivering the next ones. But oh well... live an learn. Plus you should be with her 24/7 while the puppies are young... I am and believe me it's hard work even with just the 3. I'm also with the pups 24/7 for the first 2-3 weeks and I take time off work to do so. If for some reason I can't watch them then I have a friend take over. If they absolutely have to be left unsupervised I separate the pups from the dam. What happened to the "runt"?
I would say you shouldn't have puppies if you don't have the time for it.
Basset moms are known to lay on the puppies, you just have to
watch them all the time. And it doesn't matter how many litters they have got.

Such a pity those pups died. Hopefully you have learned your lesson and will now get your dog spayed.
