This is all pretty new to me so I'm trying to send a couple of pictures of Francis at the Park

I'm trying to show everyone just how independent a totally blind dog can be. I very rarely leash Francis so he can proceed at his own pace and sniff everything to his heart's content! When Franny first went blind three years ago I thought that was the end of all our adventures but BOY!!! did he ever prove me wrong. We go everywhere together and he's game for anything.

After all these years I get to see Francis!! !!!

I've always wondered what he looks like- what a handsome guy! And you'r right, there's no indication in those photos that he's blind- he looks so confident and just like any other hound walking along the trail-

What a treat to finally "meet" Francis! He looks like he does very well for himself. :)

Oh Beverly... you have no idea (well, yes you do actually) how happy I am to see these photos of Franny! We had Emma's left removed (from that awful disease of glaucoma) three weeks ago and I'm just worried for when (the vet says not IF but WHEN) she loses the other eye. It's so heart-warming to see Franny doing so well. You both are my inspiration. Here's Emma the night we brought her home after her surgery:

Hi, it's great to hear from you, Emma's Mom. I could bore you to death with all the pictures I've taken of His Majesty at the park and on the Cape.
Today I wasn't paying enough attention at the park and he found the remains of some dead animal to roll in. Believe it or not, their nose becomes even more sensitive! That dog can smell a treat from a mile away and another time when I wasn't paying attention (do you see a pattern here?) I looked behind me to see that Francis was at the other end of the parking lot, following a couple that had biscuits in their pockets. As you can deduce from the pictures, the LAST thing that not so little guy needs is another treat.
You just take it slowly and surely and let all of you build up your confidence.
It'll stink if she loses the other eye but these pictures can show you how much their noses and ears work.
Keep me posted!
Lots of luck, we're thinking of you!!!
