Hello Everyone,

My wife and I are new to this forum but not to basset hounds. We recently lost our Lhasa (Peanut) after 17 years and he was pack brother to Mr. Willy, our basset hound, of 13 1/2 years. Mr. Willy passed over almost three years ago and Peanut passed over this past February. We were devastated. At the time we weren't sure we wanted to be the humans to another pet, ever again. But, given six months of mourning, things began to change. To make a long story short, we became the proud humans to two Shih tzu puppies (ten weeks old). We bonded to them, and they to us, quickly. But there was still an air of emptiness hanging around our home. Realizing that the emptiness was really the love and personality a slobber monster can bring to a home, we decided to get another basset. We welcomed Moses the Basset Hound (nine weeks old) to our home last weekend. We were wondering if there would be any compatibility issues between the Tzus and Moses. Well, there was absolutely no need to worry. They have bonded to the point that none realize they are different from the other. Other than losing sleep trying to potty train three puppies at the same time, all is harmonious in our home. After only a few weeks as a pack together, we wouldn't change a thing. We look forward to reading and posting on this forum and meeting new people in the process. We really do have a special place in our hearts for basset hounds. I'm including a few pics to introduce Moses and the Munckins, Sky and Jesse. Many thanks to Mikey T, Murraysmom and MissDaisyDog for the necessary help in showing me, a technical idiot, how to include pics in my posts.

PS: Mikey T, I got your reply about sizing my pics and I'm going to try to do that. If I don't succeed this time, I'll try again. Many thanks.

What a lovely family!
I am owned by a Shih Tzu and Bassett, they are the loves of my life!
MissDaisyDog,

Many thanks for contacting Admin on my behalf. To Admin: I was able to post pictures. I'm still confused as to why we have to go through a program such as Photobucket instead of just uploading the picture directly? As I said several times in earlier posts, I'm a technical imbecile compared to others and this just adds to the confusion factor. We also contribute to a Shih tzu forum and one can add a picture very easy, even me. Just curious. Thanks again to all'

It is all about bandwidth and storage by having pict stored on on the forum server dramatical increases storage space over simple text so given the same amount of storage space a longer history of post can be maintained when photos are stored on another site and linked to

there is another option as well and that is to use the attachment feature , located At the bottom of a text box when posting. You can use this to attach the pictures to the post but are limit to files less than 500K. The problem with this is you have less control over size as the pict size is automatical reduced and there is a limit on the number of attachment etc Given the limitation it is not my recomended option but some do find this easier. as it require only uploading to this forum.
What beauties all! Welcome!

Bellasmom,

Just curious how your tzu and basset get along? We couldn't have been blessed with a better mix. Getting them so young has helped them avoid identity issues. When they are not sleeping they are playing with one another, non-stop. I hope you have the same problem. :D

They are all adorable!
I can't imagine having three puppies in the house! You must be very busy.
Looking forward to seeing more pictures!
