Those long, gorgeous ears that stop people on the street are causing our 15-week-old pup Rooney a bit of a problem. We have some wonderful parks in our neighborhood, but we have to walk on concrete sidewalks to get there. Rooney is still in the stage where he drags his ears on the ground (and sometimes steps on them), and the friction with the sidewalk seems to be rubbing the edges of his ears raw - to the point that they bleed a little! He's not a big fan of having his ears pinned back, although to be fair we haven't the proverbial "snood" that basset owners often mention.
Did anyone else's puppy face this problem? Any good solutions? We thought about coating the edges of his ears with Vaseline, but he already picks up quite a bit of debris with those ears as it is!
