We're starting to get on the same wave-length as we are recognizing when he needs to go outside and he's working hard not to go where ever he wants.
UMM That second part is not very likely. Basset are natoriously difficult to housetrain. I have not seen one truely housetrained before the age of six months and a year is typical. IMHO they are slow to mature in sphincter control/ the ability to hold it. Basset boys atend to be leakers ie lines of pee past six months of age especial if excited. To aviod problems in housetraining a strict schedual and do iot give the dog more resposibility until ity is ready that is at least a month better two without an accident in a small confined space before you slowly expand the territory he has when not being strictly supervised .
