Hi all, I have been a "member" of this forum for a while but I have not been able to really get online and follow along for over a year now, maybe two. Anyway, we just added to our basset family with a little (40lbs) girl now named Penelope! I am so excited. She was found running down the highway out in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma, skinny and covered with ticks. The family who found her "fostered" her (quotes because she stayed outside and no vaccs, no heartgard ect...at least they saved her) because the rescue could not take in any more hounds. She's great, probably about 6 years old(the same as Thelonious), very quiet but happy with major helicopter tail. We met the foster family at our Vet's office (my work) and except for a possible tick borne disease (She's on doxycycline for that), funky teeth (dentistry after doxy's over) and an eye infection (got some drops) she's in great health. Oh wait, she also needs to be spayed. Luckily our boys have been fixed. Thelonious loves her but he's really easy going. Django is warming up to her but did snap at her over some dropped food. He's kind of a bully though. Anyway, So far so good. I haven't been able to take a real photo of her yet (and my phone has a weird format...won't load up) so here are the boys. Lots of Penelope pics and trios I'm sure to follow!!!
