After our little scare this morning, I was made aware that our tags were a bit banged up and hard to read. I found the websites below and ordered embroidered collars with an extra tag to have more phone numbers to locate me.

This is the extra tag I ordered ...

To slide onto this collar ... I got the third one down ...the one with a regular buckle ...

This way I will be able to have my home and cell phone numbers on them at all times.

I am glad you got your tag from GoTags................It took over a month dealing with them before I got anything from them............Then it was a refund after sending them a forward email I had sent to the bank.

I won't deal with them again........that is for sure.

We have embroidered collars for Moe and Tally (with dog's name and our phone number). Moe lost his tags while we were walking him one night and we never found them again. After that I wanted something that would be less likely to get pulled off if (heaven forbid!) he should ever get lost. My neighbor got her embroidered collars first. They walk all their Bassets off-lead in a nearby wooded area of four hundred acres. Once they lost Zelda, a half-grown pup, in the woods. My friends were frantic, and searched well after dark to find her, with no luck. They were beside themselves with worry all night. The next morning they got a call from a woman clear on the other side of the woods (several miles away) who had found a hungry and tired Zelda near her house. A happy ending, thanks to a phone number on a collar... (to this day Zelda is a wanderer, given even half a chance, and bears close watching).

Someone should invent some sort of GPS unit for dogs so they could be found if they get lost or stolen. B) B) I wish I had the money to develope that idea...

They actually do have GPS units for dogs. It started out as something hunters used, but now it's going mainstream. I was just reading about it. If I can remember where I read it, I'll post more information. And I need to talk to Invisible Fence about making their collars embroidable. It's not possible to put tags on their collars, and I would prefer the number embroidered on it anyway.

If Go-Tags doesn't work out (I have ordered from them in the past with no probelms), you might try this place: http://www.boomerangtags.com

I especially like their slip on tags for the quick-clip collars

Instead of my dog's names, I have their AVID chip numbers engraved on their ID tags. Also, since my dogs would most "probably" get lost while we're on the road for training or shows/trials, I have my cell-phone number engraved instead of my home phone.
