Hi there, I have a new Basset pup, just turned 6 months and I'm reading just about everything I can about the bread.

I noticed a small drop of blood in the pups water a couple of days ago and thought she may be coming into season (hoping im wrong) then nothing until a moment ago when i noticed she has a very pale yellowish discharge, Could this all be signs of an infection rather than her season. I would like to bread her once I have learned a whole lot more so am really just looking for opinions from other owners.

I am also waiting for a phone call from our vet.

thanks for any help you can offer

Don't be terribly alarmed but, basset females are predisposed to uterine infections. However, this discharge may be normal, and if its not presenting with other symptoms, she is most likely fine. better safe than sorry. i lost my beautiful Pagoda from one, so i found this out the hard way. if you notice a drop in appetite or diarrhea, get her to a vet ASAP.
