Alright, guys, seems like I'll be starting classes earlier than usual and events are piling up for me. The feeling in my gut is Penelope deserves a new home where she can get the attention she deserves. Anyone in South Texas (I live in Corpus Christi) interested?

Her vet visit included the following: dewormer and all vaccinations. Her ant bites are all gone and she's growing back hair where she had the neck abrasion (no more scab, just pink skin). She's still on the skinny side, but is eating kibble well and gaining weight. She walks well on a leash and his house trained. She howls or whines a bit when she wants something, but isn't overly vocal. I'll take some more pictures when I get a chance.

Please help me find a good home for her, she's such a cutie and so gentle (she came right up to people as a stray).

ps, I'm sorry, moderators, can you delete my other post. Wrong area of forum.

Have you tried the Texas basset rescues? They may be able to help. I have never dealt with them, being in Indiana, but that's where I would start.

North Texas Basset Rescue - http://www.bassetrescuedfw.com/

Lone Star Basset Rescue - http://www.lonestarbassethound.com/ (they are in desperate need of foster homes, but they might be able to help in some way)

Central Texas Basset Hound Rescue - http://www.hhbassetrescue.org/

I'm sorry to hear it isn't working out for you. But don't feel bad, about not keeping her. I'm sure you'll find her a wonderful home!
