I just found this site and thought I would introduce myself along with my almost 4 months ago puppy named Molly. We got her when she was about 8 weeks and haven't looked back since. I'm guessing she is going through some teething because she is starting to chew a little more but I expected that from a puppy so no harm no foul. She has been good about not chewing furniture but loves my g/f's shoes and my flipflops. Anyways we love her to death and has been very loyal and loving thus far. Here are the pics...
Just found some more pics and I can prove that bassets and not water friendly. This was her first and last time at the lake and on the boat. Going to be looking for a water dog soon so she can have a playmate. BTW - that is my g/f that is in the pictures.

As far as the riding in the car, try luring her in (maybe still parked) with a biscuit or her favorite treat. Pet her once inself, praise her for being a good girl and see if she settles down. Then eventually do this while your friend slowly starts driving. It just might work??
