The leptospirosis test came back negative, so we still don't have a specific cause for Murray's liver problems and weight loss.
In the meantime,Murray has gained a little weight. This is a really good development and may show that the Baytril, Amoxicillin, and Denamarin are helping. Watching him turning into a little dog skeleton despite extra food was really scaring me, so I'm feeling better now too.
We'll be at the vet's office Friday morning at 7:30 am to take more blood and see where is liver enzymes are- if they are going down this may be the end of his problems; if they continue to go up we'll just keep monitoring and support his liver with Denamarin and diet, and treat him as a liver patient and monitor him indefinitely.
We won't do a surgical liver biopsy unless he starts going down again.
I'll let you know how it goes Friday- thanks to everyone who responded to my posts, I've been pretty upset about all this and your support has really been appreciated
