She's not 100%, but she is definitely on the upswing. Eating more, up and around a lot. Still not feeling playful, but she's thinking about it. The tail is definitely up and wagging more than it has been all week. It's a relief to see :)

Yay Molly! I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm sorry about the diagnosis though. At least now your folks know what you all have to deal with. Good luck and keep feeling better!

I’m so glad to hear that Molly is back at home and she is doing better. I’m sure you both are feeling better with her where she belongs. I did a little bit of searching on Addison's and I found a website full of great info that is also a support group for parents of four legged children that have it.

Prayers out to you both that Molly has a long full life that you can both enjoy.

Here is the link for you…

Thanks, Jen. My husband found that site too and I've already joined the group. Good information from those who are dealing with it too.

Molly is progressing in her recovery each day. Today she was rolling around in the yard with Winston (he's really missed playing with her), but she tires easily and naps a lot. Friday she goes to the vet to get her electrolytes tested again and to have an overall recheck. Keeping my fingers crossed that she's where she needs to be. Tomorrow we cut back the prednisone a bit, so hopefully soon her potty habits will be good again. I just had her housebroken and now the pred makes her drink more and accidents are common. Poor Molly, she tries to tell me that she has to pee, but sometimes it sneaks up on her. Such is life.

Molly McFreckles,

so glad you are feeling better now. and I bet your brother Winston is too. you are on some strong meds. are you eating now?

you're welcome. since your ma is a smart historian, i bet you she tells you lotsa stories...! hee hee. JFK McFreckles, i'm just picturing that, since you both have something in common. i do think the tag is a good idea, so everyone will know.

i like your pic-- you are too purty for words...

Worm,

I am eating now...but I don't like the dog food. I'd much rather have the chicken Momma makes for me. I also want more cheese (she says there are pills in there, but I don't taste them). The vet said I should eat baby carrots instead of Pupperonis so I don't get fat. I'm not so sure I like this doctor, even though she made me feel better. Momma likes her though, and she pays the bill.

Momma does tell me stories about history, but I don't listen. She says I am just like her students that way. I like the JFK McFreckles idea. In fact, we may drive to Cape Cod this summer to see my aunt who lives there. Maybe I'll get to see JFK McFreckles' house! Bet he has a great lawn. Maybe after Labor Day, because then dogs are allowed in the beaches. Momma said she came up with my name while she was vacationing there last year. Something about an Irish Pub. I dunno.

My brother is being annoying because I don't want to play with him. He barks and barks at me, so I bite his ears to make him be quiet. He's getting new teeth soon, so he is always biting me and Momma. Momma said I was never this bad...that's because I am a good dog. My brother is the devil!

BTW, you are a good looking basset too!

Love,
Molly

Hello Ms. McFreckles,

thank you for the compliment-- i think i may be in "wub" with you, well a crush for sure.

if you see JFK McFreckles' house, please be sure to take lotsa pictures and tell us all about it! hee hee, my person has a l'il bro and she says, yeah, l'il bros can be like that, esp when ur growing up... later u learn to arrpeciate them more.

i don't think i like your vet very much either if she said you are fat. you do not look fat to me. BUT.... since we are on my favorite topic of FOOD (Estha has me pegged), i will tell you the story of CARROTS & ME:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
CARROTS & ME. By Worm McF.
Our family friend (of the hound variety) got overweight & his vet put him on a carrot-as-treats only diet, too. He did well and lost weight and loooves carrots. So my person wanted to feed me carrots, too. but i spit them out, like this :p
My person was sad: how am i going to get Worm to eat his carrotz? Well, first came chicken and beef and turkey baby food. (because i was having upset tummy i was only eating baby food and kibble) i licked it all up 'cause it's meaty and tasty. Then came carrot baby food, which sometimes got mixed in w/the meat baby food, or it was mixed with chicken. YUMMY!! I guess i musta started to like carrot flavor more. Then came boiled carrots, which were boiled with chicken and celery. Yum, yum. all nice and mooshy. Then one day, my person gave me raw carrots (the 'baby' ones, peeled) and chomp chomp i went. now, they are one of my fav foods! AND i don't have to fight with the other dogs at the dog park for carrots. most of them don't like them. so they give the carrots to ME, ME, ME!!

I hope you try and get to like carrots someday, Molly. They are really great and refreshing. and crunchy. i get a few every night for bedtime snack and to clean my teeth. let us know how everything goes.

Worm,

I do love carrots now!! At first, I didn't know what to do with them. Now I know to eat them before my hungry little brother takes it. He always takes my food, so Momma feeds me separately right now. He's a pain, but Momma says he's cute. Whatever!

I also love love love ice cubes. Anytime Momma or Daddy put some in a cup, they share some with us. I also eat strawberries! Bananas too. My absolute favorite is peanut butter, but I'm not allowed to have it all the time. Bad for my figure ;) When I was in the hospital last week, Momma came to visit and brought peanut butter. I thought since she went to all that trouble, I'd eat some. She was happy! So then I ate chicken...she was even happier! Crazy things make my Momma happy. What do you expect from someone who likes my little brother? Sigh.

I have to go to the dr tomorrow. Yuck! I'll let you know how I do :)

Naptime!

Love,
Molly :)
