Does any one have a Bassett that has extra teeth? My husband and I have a 1 1/2yr old Bassett that has 5 ADULT K9 teeth....I took him to the vet and he said that he has never seen that before in a dog puppy yes but not a dog that has all of his adult teeth....

Yes I have. And the extra adults were removed. At the time, my vet (in Canada) said he saw this occasionally in Dachshunds, but hadn't come across this in Bassets. She didn't pass this on - either in her immediate offspring, nor her grandchildren. I'd never had this before, or since.

Mine has an extra lower tooth!!! Vet said it doesn’t look like baby tooth either but she’s so young to not worry about it now? Must be a genetic thing or something?
