Howdy. Esther here.

Gentlemen, if you're weirded out by lady stuff, please move along.

Ok then. Well I'm getting my potential puppy making stuff removed tomorrow. I don't know what to think. I already went through my first "season" and now they say it's time. I hope they're nice to me. As an added bonus, they are also going to clean my teeth while I'm under. I'm only 1-1/2 but my teeth are FUNKY. Maybe from that brown water mom and dad said they had at the hotel they stayed at when they came to get me! Ha!

Ok so this is a delicate matter. I wonder if it has something to do with my heat being over. My, a-hem, bewbies are awfully big. The breeder lady said, no I'd never had pups. But they seem bigger than other folks. Is this due to my heat? I've been out for like 2-3 weeks. Or are some girls puppy-milk-givers just bigger? I'm only the third basset my peeps have ever had and the second girl. Just curious. It doesn't really matter because I'm gorgeous anyway, but I was wondering if the size varies with my changing seasons. Or if my spay will change something. We don't know what to expect. Bye and hope I haven't embarassed anyone.

also I apologize for not having searched the site better for my answers.
I ran a google search on false pregnancies as they relate specifically to bassets and found several things linked to this very site. from soundtrack even. ha
so thanks for taking the time to re-address this with me.

i'm back
i keep screwing up pictures and I've posted like three times already but hadda delete.
so I'll try in another post but the skinny is that I was fine throughout! I slept and slept and was a little sore when I woke up but my teef were clean and I was tired so I slept some more. the vet lady called the human from the van out front and said I was ready to come inside. The human got there. I stood up and immediately fell over. Guess I wasn't exactly ready. (Dear kids: drugs are bad, mmmkay?) but we had a great afternoon we slept and watched andy griffith and slept and gotta drink of water and then we slept some. I got an "inner" stitch with those dissolving stitched and then reclosed on the outside with some gluey, gummy, cement kinda stuff. Oh and it tastes bad so I leave it alone. Cones are so passe' and a lady of the world like myself must keep up appearances, no? So I'm back to my normal mischeivous self... gotta' run. got some underwear to swipe!

And finally, last night... Back to my normal self and reading up on what we're gonna do for breakfast. It should certainly be whatever my heart desires, since I'm such a put-upon young lady who had to endure the worst of all procedures. I think cereal, bacon, three wheat cakes, three eggs over, some toast and jelly should cover it for starters. mmmmmm.... having such a recovery after such a HUGE OPERATION sure makes a sweetie like me HUNGRY. Now GET WITH IT, HUMANS! POST HASTE.

ok. i think we'll give dr amy a ring-a-ding
although I did eat breakfast this morning, which I didn't do for two days straight.
that's kinda what folks were worried about. oh and I turned my nose up at treats too. that's REAL weird. I'm not one for fad diets so...

for just a few days i was. that made my tummy hurt and I barfed. (more than normal hee hee)

it was the not eating and not wanting treats that makes the humans worried.
they lost two bassets in january to cancer--neither of them would eat either--and I think they're still a little gunshy. they were so sad and are worried about me now. They love me so much. It's enough to make a little girl blush.
