And I think i'm happy to be here. I am a proud owner of a female basset hound! Currently I am living with my sister who also owns a basset and two other dogs. A dachsund and a wiemeraner.

My bassets name is Lucy (named after Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds) and she is about 7 months old! But she is a pretty big girl for 7 months!
She loves to play tug of war and wrestle with the baby dachsund. I hope to come visit this website often!

Yes, very pretty...welcome.

You said she's a big girl...how big? My Winston is 6 1/2 months and weighed in at 42 lbs the other week. My little tank...so proud.

Winston!! you are getting big, but you'll always be the l'il bro of the pack. sheesh, you are bigger than me now and i hate to say it, but you might beat me in a wrestling match... doh.

from past experience refereeing many a basset wrestling match speed is generally determines the outcome not size. Hence why female tend to beat the snot out of the boys. That and they generally don't fight fair given that boys have an "extra handle" that the girls like to use to drag them around by.

Molly is 54 lbs. She'll be the little "big sister" very soon. I told Winston that he's not allowed to be more than 60 lbs AT THE MOST! He never listens, so...

Thanks, Mikey, i guess there still might be hope. i don't got size, but might have a chance with speed.

I haven't wieghed Lucy in a while so when I do i will get back at yall with how big she is!

My family think shes huge because compared to our two yr old Basset Suze shes already way bigger than her!

This is one of the funniest threads I've read in a while what with MikeyT talking about bitches and how they don't fight fair. But welcome to the forum. Lucy is a beautiful little girl.

well my visit with the vet lady got me on the scales.
I'm a whopping 28 pounds. Mini-Basset.

28 pounds! Sheesh....Annie's new name could be Large Marge compared to you Miss Esther! Last weight check was 58.1lbs.

Though I do think that after this past week's tummy troubles Annie may have lost a few pounds. I should go check right now.

So the 58.1 was on May 23...today Annie weighed in at 55.4
