It won't help for him to be jumping off the bed BUT have you had your vet rule out this being Panosteitis? He's the 'right age' for this and it presents as moving from one limb to another - hence the nickname the creeping disease. It's VERY painful when it hits but the good news is it can be controlled with painkillers, and it will go away, eventually. But meanwhile, total rest is needed, preferably crate rest with the animal only being taken outside on a lead, to empty.
Don't ban him from your room, but using a crate or other confinement, keep him OFF THE BED. I believe as much harm/injury can be done from jumping down, as going up.

Of course, this could just be jumping off the bed.
