My husband and I just started fostering a basset. He was found on an old dirt road. He's a young guy (2-3yrs). He has a limp, so they took an xray. It showed a previous break on one of his back legs that had a shotty repair done. The rescue said it looked like the pins and rods kind of end in his hip socket (poor baby). The plan is to get all of this fixed with another surgery and rehab, but my question in the mean time is, do any of you have recommendations on a good quality food we can be feeding him that can really boost his bone strength? He's taking Movoflex (joint support) every day, and I'm thinking about also starting him on some fish oil, but haven't gotten any yet since we just got him last night. Any kind of advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

1 do not need a special food for bone strength any quality food would be fine

2. fish oil may slightly help with pain and inflammation and balance out the general highly skewed 0mega6 to three ratio in most dog food.

3. Supplements in the US are a crap shoot,
