I apologize because I know this question has been asked before but I do not see it recently. I am struggling finding a good fitting harness for my basset. The long body and big chest, plus finding something that doesn't rub his legs has been a task. Does anyone have a recommendation? Since it has been a while since the question was asked I thought something new might be out there.

Others will be along with suggestions but I remember "buddy lee's" owner I think had either designed one ....... search this forum under buddy lee harness.

fyi buddy lee was an old chap (basset) who's owner set up a blog for him

Hey guys, I'm looking for a harness too...

One that I found for the car was the Clickit Sport, which I really want to use (if I remember correctly, it's the only one that is sufficiently safety tested to keep the dog safe in a crash)

Has anyone heard of it? If so, would it be appropriate to use as a walking harness too? Or does anyone know if it fits basset hounds well in particular?

We got one from pets at home it's padded underneath slightly with a picture of a bone although he is a puppy so not sure if they do full dog sizes x

This is the harness we used with Bogie. The Sporn Simple Control Harness. Easy to put on. It's like a figure eight, slip one loop over the head and buckle other loop around the tummy. It does not rub them under the legs and arm pits like some do. Very good control and fit.

Riley has a soft padded mesh harness. It's soft, comfortable, lightweight, and easy to adjust. Hands down this harness stopped all 3 of my Bassets from pulling when we took a walk. As you all know, we have very strong dogs that want to follow their noses. Riley only wears it when we walk, but he doesn't mind wearing it at all. I think the name of the brand is FunPet. I'm pretty sure I got it at Petsmart.
