Heh, heh. I agree with both sadeyes2 and Barb. They may well all be spayed and neutered, and if not, I hope they will be in the near future.

A reminder that many of us are rescue volunteers and that rescues and shelters are populated by dogs produced mainly by backyard breeders. This is the reason we don't support their practices.

As far as I know, bassets, unlike Siberian Huskies for example, do not carry a gene for blue eyes. If isolated to this particular bitch, this anomaly was most likely developmental, as opposed to genetic. As such, it would be unlikely that she would produce offspring with a similar anomaly.
