They've been in a Kennel for two weeks. We were on holidays, and now we are pouring a huge patio. (it was supposed to be done in JUNE!, contractors got behind because of unending rain)
They come home Sunday. Hubby doesn't want basset prints adorning the new patio, but I think that would be rather unique, and adorable. (we have different ideas on what's adorable :D )
I miss them so much  . I really NEED to see some hounds...pictures anyone??

Elvis on his throne in my (his) office

I agree with you - if I wre pouring concret I would have little paw prints all over them.

I can feel your pain, My Dear! Even Jack is missing Huck and was wondering if a friend of ours who is meeting us in a couple of days could possibly bring Huck up with him from Seattle! Alas, it is too late to make that happen. But I will not - repeat - will not - spend another summer without my friend. I have found that I have no reason to get off the boat if he's not here. Selfishly, I usually lose at least 10 lbs. with all the rowing and walking when he is with us. This year all I could think was making more cookies, bread & cakes!!! Within the past two weeks we've had three different boats ask us where Huckleberry was. I won't leave him behind again. Funny, I was supposed to "rest" on this trip. Well, I suppose I did but I also just didn't feel "whole" either. He's definitely coming next year!!!

P.S. LOVE all the pics!!

Sandy, I know how much you miss your furbabies, but this threat is great for a houndie fix! It's nice to have so many sweet faces in one place.

Hope you have a great homecoming for them tomorrow (?).

Well. as in all things involving renovations, we've had a delay. We finally had the sealant put on the patio, and the hounds get picked up tomorrow at 10:00. Then they are off to get shampooed, and home after that. I haven't seen them since Aug 2nd!
Thanks so much for all the wonderful pictures of your hounds, it helped a lot. :D I can hardly wait until tomorrow, it's almost like I'm getting two new dogs, I'm so excited...
I have also let my anti-basset tactics slide abit. ie: leaving things out on the counter, setting the barbequed steaks down on the table, etc. Will have to shape up in a hurry!!!
