Years ago when I used to work at Home Depot, the Dyson was a popular item to steal. I caught a guy trying to sneak one past the cashiers and when I tried to stop him he tossed the box at me. THAT"S when I learned how heavy the thing can be. I heard that the guy came back last year to find me and apologise, he had been in a 12-Step program and was looking to make amends, by then I had graduated from school and had become a nurse where all sorts of demented people toss things at me! Home Depot was good practice for dodging flying objects

We had the basic Dyson for years but when we got Poppy and the hair started, we upgraded to the animal!! It's AWESOME!!

By the way it was invented by an English man called James Dyson!! You sould try his hand held one for the hairs in cars... Equally as good, but he battery runs out quick because it's so powerful...

Just make sure you clean the filters every 6 months, as it seems to make it even better!!!

Sorry to hear that the space craft is returning to its mothership! I hope you can find a lighter weight and powerful vacuum. I use a bissel upright canister from Wal-Mart for about $85 and it works very well for pet hair...if I use it often enough (which is hardly the case)!
