The Rescue Group asked me if my house was immaculate, if I had said yes, they would have turned me down for a Basset. Simone does drool, it flies when she shakes her head but it is easy to clean up, it's not that bad. She sheds, drools, burps, and smells like a bag of corn chips but she is also a clown makes us laugh everyday and that's priceless.

A while ago one morning after Hank and I came back inside from his morning "outhouse time" and after I filled his water bowl then called him, He ran so fast to it that he tripped over both his ears and went sliding face first into the bowl. To my surprise, he didn't even lift his head from the bowl, he just sat there drinking it bottom-up until there was no more water left. Then, he continued to rampage around my room with a water/drool covered face with slobber gooing down from the tips of his ears and from the edges of his droopy mouth.

So much drool already and I don't even mind at all

Congratulations on your soon to be new baby.

From what I’ve seen with mine (I have two) – Lucy is a dry mouth and really doesn’t drool at all. That said I wouldn’t walk in socks anywhere near where she’s drinking water.

On the other hand my other hound Flash – forget it – when she goes for her daily walks any dog that’s around her comes back home with drool on them and she has it all over her snout and back. When I’m cooking and it’s something she likes, I need to put a towel under her – we call it Flash turning on the faucet. And at dinner time – forget it – faucet is on full blown – it’s a hoot to see it running out of both sides of her mouth. She doesn’t really beg – she just stares at you with drool running out.

Congratulations again!
