Hello to everybody.

I am a Basset-Fan from Germany. We are living close to Hamburg. We have Basset-Hounds since 10 years. Actually we have a 5 year old male Basset called Zaro and a 12 week old puppy name Xsunny which is a short name for "X-Mas Sun". She was born on the 24 of December - but try to call a Basset with the name X-Mas Sun - she will never come.

I am very curious about International Basset-Life and your experiences. Please excuse my english - some things may sound a little unused.

To give you an idea about our doggies see some pictures:

Welcome!

What beautiful bassets you have! Don't forget to respond to the "How did you choose your basset's name" thread topic. You explained Xsunny but not Zaro! Trying to keep the name game thread topic. You'll enjoy reading the others stories and then have the opportunity to add yours at the end! Again, Welcome to you and your hounds!

They are absolutely beautiful. How did Zaro like it when you brought Xsunny home? Did they get along right away? You must post more pictures soon. They are soo cute together.

Thank you for your wellcome.

Zaro did not like the new situation at first. His girl friend - a 12 year old Cocker-Spaniel died only 3 weeks before and he was in grieve for her. So the puppy disturbed him and he went away from her. But now after another 3 weeks he starts to realize, that playing with the puppy is a lot of fun and both of them are making a lot of nonsense. She is a lovely and very self confident small lady.

This is Zaro with his Cocker-girl:

Wilkommen auf Cyberhound! Francis, meine Basset Hound, und ich lebe in Boston. Ich lebte in Bremen für zwei Jahre, als ich jünger war. Francis ist 11 Jahre alt und blind, aber er ist immer noch eine sehr glückliche und verspielte Hund.
Wilkommen! Die Menschen hier sind wunderbar!

Our winter babys are so cute - I think they are even closer to people, than the babys born in summer. Xsunny only new snow and cold weather for 4 months - the first impressions of her life were so cold - so she always hides under our warm jackets - and she keeps this attitude even now.
