What is the purpose of the harness can not even begin to make a recomendation without a purpose. A restraint in the car or tied outside. Reduce pulling while walking etc there is no perefect harness that does all things well so you need to define the purpose before you can start look for the right one.

My person says she is envious of the parents of all the non-pulling bassets on this forum

Lets ands some zen type phylospphy that might help.

!. basset can not pull on a leash till there is someione on the other end

2. a basset not on leash never pulls.

the problem with the special front hook harness is they are not secure. much less secure than a buckle collar.
