Hand feeding

Hi, our Fred is a really greedy guzzler when eating his kibble. We used a plastic feeding dish which has a maze-like structure on the inside (sorry don’t know the English term for it), but he still finished his kibble in record time without chewing and even eating some small particles of the dish. I have started hand feeding him and this seems to do the job. He even chews now 😉. I don’t mind feeding him this way, but is it a bad thing to continue doing so, or is there any other way to get him to slow down?

they make metal slow feeding dishes https://www.chewy.com/qt-dog-brake-...lm5vaGPCG8rSBoS9-5kY0tKw3IusQjJQaAkvuEALw_wcB larger pieced kibble is more likely to be chewed than small puppy size pieces they can simply such down
