Yesterday I came home and there was a puddle of pee and one smelly dog (anal gland leakage) greeted me at the door. Normally when Kit has a fit I won't find any pee because it's all in his fur and I'll find saliva on his fur too but yesterday I didn't.

I know a couple of you have or have had epileptic dogs so I wonder if you have any idea what might have happened while I was at work.

His last fit was 5 weeks ago (again I was at work) and it seems to have been a big one from the mess I found but yesterday's troubles are a big mystery. I wish I could install a webcam.

Another thought was that maybe someone came into my backyard and scared him badly but I've had Kit for 6 years now and he's never been scared enough to empty his glands.

Anyone with any opinon on this would be most welcome.

Yes he's epileptic

He's currently taking potasium bromide and was 33 weeks fit-free. He had one 5 weeks ago that I'm sure of but this time lots of the signs were missing like saliva in his fur etc. which is why I'm very puzzled.

Thanks for the info Mike but..

Kit's one of those dogs that just bounces right back after a fit. The only thing he does do is get very very hungry, drinks a lot and is hyper for about an hour. If he had his fit in the morning then there would be no signs for me to see as he would be his old self by then. I tell you there's nothing worse than not knowing it's so frustrating!!!
